Beta Sigma Lambda Tau, Inc.
Beta Sigma Lambda Tau Sorority Inc. Was founded January 1, 2023, in Baton Rouge, LA by a brilliant and astonishing woman that wanted to create a safe space for feminine women in the LGBTQ+ community. It was her intention to recreate the stigma in the gay community amongst feminine women. From the initials of the Greek phase meaning, "the house of balance, change, and elevating life", the name Beta Sigma Lambda Tau was achieved. This organization was created to uplift women, be a pillar in the community and forge a sisterhood like no other.

Driven by an unfulfilled vision, our founder recognized that a greater mission lay ahead. There was still vital work to be done in the community. Collaborating with her Sorority, Beta Sigma Lambda Tau, she conceived the idea of creating a supportive PHamily. Thus, the Beta Phamily Phortress was established in Baton Rouge, LA, on January 17, 2024. LaToya realized that her potential was far greater than she had imagined. Beta Alpha Epsilon would serve as a safe haven for those presenting as masculine; Beta Theta Upsilon would offer refuge for gay, bisexual, and trans men; and Beta Alpha Mu would create a welcoming environment for trans women. Each initiative was specifically designed to empower the community and its members, fostering a brighter, more inclusive tomorrow.

LaToya Chisley-Jones is a proud mother of three extraordinary children, a devoted community leader, an inspiring entrepreneur, and the visionary founder of Beta PHamily PHortress. Established in 2024, this organization was created to provide safe and nurturing spaces for individuals across the LGBTQ+ spectrum, embodying a commitment to inclusivity and support. Through her tireless efforts and an unwavering spirit of unity, LaToya has cultivated not merely a community, but a genuine phamily—a network of love and acceptance that empowers its members.
With 16 years of experience as both a pageant competitor and a devoted pageant mom, LaToya brings a wealth of knowledge, resilience, and passion for mentoring others. Her journey began in Las Vegas, NV, before taking root in Tallulah, LA, and ultimately leading her to Baton Rouge, where she advocates tirelessly for her community’s needs and rights.
A woman of many talents and a heart full of compassion, LaToya’s greatest passion lies in service—uplifting others, giving back, and creating environments where love and acceptance can not only exist but thrive. Her commitment to fostering a supportive community exemplifies her belief that everyone deserves a place to belong, making her an invaluable asset to those around her.
